Kcho's "Untitled" bronze sculpture encapsulates the precarious odyssey of exile and innocence adrift, portraying a diminutive raft cradling a patinated child's form—its amorphous, verdigris-tinged body evoking both embryonic vulnerability and the eroded remnants of human cargo amidst Cuba's migratory crises, where the vessel's skeletal wooden frame underscores the fragility of makeshift journeys across unforgiving seas. This assemblage interrogates the intersection of childhood purity and geopolitical rupture, transforming the archetypal boat into a sepulchral cradle that symbolizes the suspended animation of balsero aspirations, where buoyancy contends with submersion in a narrative of loss and resilience. Conceptually, the work navigates the liminal waters between salvation and oblivion, positing the child's inert presence as a poignant indictment of historical displacements, inviting reflection on the archipelago's collective trauma and the alchemical potential of endurance forged from despair.
