Florencio Gelabert Soto's "Untitled" asserts the strength born of convergence through a tall cast bronze sculpture in which several slender, branch-like trunks rise from a circular base and lean inward to meet beneath a sharp semi-circular crown. Cast in bronze, the organic forms are made permanent, their individual fragility transformed into a unified vertical structure that gains power precisely through interdependence. The semi-circular element at the apex functions as both horizon and cutting edge, marking the threshold where separate paths resolve into singular purpose. Conceptually, the work presents an unequivocal metaphor for resilience: disparate elements achieve elevation only when bound together in shared aspiration, reflecting the Cuban condition of survival through collective direction amid conditions of scarcity and isolation.
